Enable nvidia power management mode option11/11/2023 ![]() ![]() How to get it? Configuring our Xorg configuration file. Our goal will be to change the option PreferredMode de Adaptive a Prefer Maximum Performance. Ideally, you should be able to change PowerMizer settings directly from nvidia-settings, but for some reason it doesn't save the changes. When I turned it back to the "Optimal" power settings mode, I get the stutters/freezes again.Nvidia-settings: tab to configure powermizer Oddly enough, I did NOT experience this during the Beta and also, no amount of other in-game graphical settings tweaking/lowering got rid of the stutters until I turned prefer maximum performance on. This solved about 95% of stuttering issues for me (it still does happen sometimes) and it turned the game from nearly unplayable to enjoyable. I know this setting might be a no brainer for some folks, but I didn't have this set globally (only for specific games) so changing it to maximum performance for this game made a difference. You can set it globally, or just add the Marvel's Avengers executable and only have the setting active when this particular game is running. Basically, this setting will prevent downclocking the GPU. I have a pretty high end rig (i9 10900K 5.1Ghz, 2080 Ti, 3440x1440 res) and I was getting MASSIVE stuttering/slowdowns, and noticed this was occurring anytime the game was transitioning from in-game cutscenes to gameplay and vice versa.basically, it felt like anytime the game wasn't truly loading my GPU (like a cutscene), it would stutter like crazy (downclock), and once it returned to having to render gameplay, the GPU would 'ramp back up' and my fps would stabilize and smoothen out.įor Nvidia card owners, open up NVCP (Nvidia Control Panel) and set your power management mode (Under the 'Manage 3D Settings' option) to "prefer maximum performance" and it should help with this issue. This really, really sucks and I hope SE/CD have a plan for patching this asap, it's literally gamebreaking. The biggest indicator is a complete restart of the game clears any stuttering once it starts up, and then an hour or two later it does it again until the game is restarted. I tried tweaking every graphics setting, lowering resolution, removing hires texture pack from Steam, you name it, I did it.the game 100% needs a patch to fix this unless it's a driver issue (which it could be, since there's no optimized drivers for this game from Nvidia, but i doubt it). EDIT: Just want to add that I did have Low Latency Mode set to "On" for a lot of FPS games I played, and after experiencing additional stuttering even with Prefer Maximum Performance enabled, setting Low Latency to "Off" also helped.the combination of these two seem to have eliminated all of my stuttering/harsh slowdowns (there will still be occasional stuttering on level/area load, etc, but what's i'm referencing here is the stuttering/freezing that almost seems like a full stop/crawl of the game anywhere from 5-15 seconds at a time).ĮDIT 2: So over the course of playing for 10+ hours today (or at least attempting to play), this actually appears to be a MEMORY LEAK of some sort for about an hour, maybe two, the game will be buttery smooth and inevitably things will just absolutely tank an hour or two in (enemies loading in, animations/effects, cutscenes /transitions, etc.anything basically tanks the fps). ![]()
